Songs for the Unsung:Springfield Heroines festival kicks off on Friday, March 21 with a partnership between the Sangamon County Historical Society (SCHS) and the Springfield Choral Society. SCHS has written scripts about six women from Springfield whose stories showcase an eclectic mix of lifestyles, interests and accomplishments. The small ensembles of the Springfield Choral Society will interweave life-narratives with thematically related works by female composers. Tickets are $15 per person, available online or at the door.
